Farewell
Atari Many thanks for the Atari mag and all its interesting articles.
Have parted with my Atari gear now but will always have fond memories of
an excellent machine. Good luck to the MyAtari team.

you for your support, Malcolm. We're always
sad to lose readers but also glad that you
enjoyed the magazine, good luck.

Harlequin
days I read with interest your article on Harlequin and the game Plastron.
I wrote that game and have to say you would have seen many more if
people had brought the game. It was at the end of the life for the
8-bit Atari and we would have done some cool stuff we have a very good
guy on board for the graphics and music called Richard Munns we could
have done some cool stuff we had all the bits just that the game did not
make any money so I guess it all
stopped.
By
the way do you know anything of the wereabouts of Steve Goss I have all the source code for the game and will
make if public if I can speak to him first.

Lai replies What a pleasure to receive
your mail, Andy. I clearly remember that
show where I bought Plastron and I certainly
would have bought more such well produced
games had they come. I even took it to school
on the following Monday and wowed everyone
with the slick artwork and game graphics!
This looked like an ST game.
Would
you have any interest in reviving some of
these ideas? It seems a lot of old school
game programmers are getting back into the
scene at the moment and doing things never
previously thought possible, or just making
new stuff for fans to enjoy. A recent project
that springs to mind is a new version of
the cult '90s ST shooter, Lethal Xcess.
Last
I knew of Steve, he was at http://www.jetbootjack.com
- good luck getting hold of him. Where is
Richard Munns these days? I've enjoyed many
a tune of his on the good old 8-bits.
Finally,
call me slow, but I had never played Moon
Patrol until last month!

Power supply
adapter I read with interest the posts on the fourm about using the PC power
supply
with the Atari Falcon, I am currently rehousing my Falcon in to an old PC AT
tower, and would like to use the 350 W PSU in the tower to run my Falcon, hard
disk and CD-ROM etc.
Can you tell me how I go about this or can one of the suppliers sell me a
converter cable to use the AT PSU, I would be grateful for any help you can
provide.

Lai replies Having asked around,
I've not found any ready-made adapter. In
this situation, I'd look up the specifications
of the Falcon and AT power connectors respectively
and work from there. The Falcon only has
5 and 12 volts to be concerned about. As
a hint, you will also need to find which
lines on the AT power supply switch it on
and off.

Falcon upgrade help
needed I would like to know if you know an Atari expert who has had experience
with
a CT60. Last October the F30 and CT60 were installed by a respected
member of the Atari community.
Unfortunately during transit it was
found that the power supply had collapsed and fallen to the bottom of the
tower, along with knocking the Eclipse card from the bus.
No
permanent damage had been caused, it was decided that rather than send the
computer back over the Christmas rush it would be posted at a later
date.
Having been assured that all was well before final shipment back
the parcel was resent. Unfortunately upon receiving the computer
further problems were encountered. The problem which I have is that
once power is applied the computer spins up, but my monitor goes to power
save mode.
After what seemed like an age my courier has agreed that the
computer is repairable. The courier needs quotes so that the claim can be
closed.
Please would it be possible to provide any advice on who
would be willing to look at my computer.

Lai replies My
first suggestion would be Rodolphe Czuba
himself. You mention you have an Eclipse
card - where is the monitor plugged in when
you get the symptoms, the PCI video card
or the Falcon's own monitor port? Go back
to basics and verify these first. Have you
inspected the motherboard for signs
of damage? Do you have any idea what was
done to the machine during the time it has
been back and forth?
If the Eclipse
has suffered, all may not be lost yet as
Nature is working hard on SuperVidel (see
last month's issue), which should give much
higher performance, compatibility and
value.
